Whipped Coffee

I’m not a coffee drinker, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t whip up some coffee when the occasion calls for it. And when I say “whip up some coffee,” I mean that quite literally. Whipped coffee is a trend that’s sweeping across America. Possibly because we’re all bored with daily quarantine life and are looking for easy ways to spice up our normal routines. And this does just that. Plus, it only takes three ingredients and 5 minutes to make.

Simply take instant coffee or instant espresso, boiling water, and sugar. Beat them together for 3-5 minutes with an electric mixer and your done. Scoop a spoonful of the mixture into a glass of either hot or cold milk, stir until it’s thoroughly blended, and enjoy. But if that still doesn’t sound exciting enough for you, try adding cocoa powder or vanilla extract to the mix to create a mocha or a latte cup of joe. (Again. Not a coffee drinker, so if I botched the lingo, my bad.)

So, if you’re a coffee addict who’s been forced to become your own barista, I highly recommend you give this recipe a try. Not only is it super easy to make, you might impress yourself with what a cool looking cup of coffee you can make at home.

¼ cup Instant coffee or Instant espresso
 ¼ cup Sugar
 ¼ cup Boiling water
8 oz Milk, hot or cold
 1 tbsp Cocoa powder (optional)
 1 tbsp Vanilla (optional)

1

Combine the instant coffee, sugar, and boiling water together in a bowl. (If adding vanilla extract, add prior to mixing.) Beat with an electric mixer for 3-5 minutes or until the mixture becomes pale with stiff peaks. The finished product will be remanence of whipped cream. (If adding cocoa powder, fold in after the coffee's been whipped.)

2

Add a tablespoon of the whipped coffee mixture to the milk and stir until blended all the way through. You can adjust the strength of the coffee to taste by adding either more or less of the whipped coffee to your beverage.

3

Freeze or refrigerate any leftover whipped coffee to use at a later date. To make a single serving, just mix 1 tablespoon of instant coffee, sugar, and hot water. The ratio is 1:1:1, so it's super easy to adjust the amount of coffee you make.
