Dessert Nachos 3

Patriotic Dessert Nachos

Here at Breezeway Bakery we appreciate the sweeter things in life, so I knew that we had to celebrate nacho day with some dessert nachos! Essentially a parfait served with cinnamon-sugared chips, this stellar dish owes its patriotic personality to a star-shaped cookie cutter. Add a liberal sprinkle of red, white, and blue fruits on a bed of yogurt and those sugary star chips and voilà! That’s it. Sweet, simple, and healthy, the stars and stripes have never tasted so good!

P.S. Grandpa, if you’re reading this, feel free to act surprised when I bring you a plate of these on Veterans Day this Sunday.

Ingredients
  cup Sugar
 1 tsp Cinnamon
 4 Flatbread Pizza Crusts
 1-2 tbsp Olive Oil
5 Strawberries (the larger the better)
 10 Raspberries
  cup Blueberries
 ½ White Nectarine
2 Star-shaped Cookie Cutters (one large, one small)
 16 oz Carton Vanilla Yogurt
 Chocolate Syrup (for garnish)

Prep and Bake
1

Combine the cinnamon and sugar in a small, shallow bowl; set aside. Cut the pizza crusts into star shapes with the larger cookie cutter. I got around 10 stars per crust. Brush both sides with olive oil and dip both sides into the cinnamon-sugar. Place on a parchment paper–lined baking sheet and bake at 350 for 10–12 minutes or until just brown. Remove from oven and let cool completely.

Toppings
2

Meanwhile, cut each strawberry in half and then cut with the small cookie cutter. Dice any leftover strawberry into small pieces. Dice the white nectarine and cut the raspberries in half. Mix all the fruit together. Place the star chips on a large platter or portion onto two individual plates. Top with the fresh fruit and add a generous dollop of yogurt. Garnish with chocolate syrup, if desired, and serve.
