Though this recipe technically starts with a box mix, this is no ordinary chocolate cake. With a gooey Nutella center and M&Ms incorporated into the batter, this cake is down right overflowing with chocolaty goodness. And if that weren’t decadent enough, it’s garnished with melted Nutella that gets drizzled over the top… And of course there’s the extra M&Ms. And the scoops of vanilla ice cream. Yeah. It’s intense. But if you love chocolate as much as I do, there is no way you can pass up this indulgent dessert.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Prepare the cake mix according to the directions on the box. Once the batter has been assembled, fold the M&M candies into the batter.
Pour half of the batter in the bottom of a greased cast iron pan. Spread the Nutella over the surface of the batter. Cover the Nutella layer with the reserved cake batter.
Bake for 30 minutes or until the center of the cake is no longer gooey. (If you poke the cake with a toothpick, there should be no sticky cake batter. But, any Nutella that you hit in the middle might give you a false reading.)
Remove from the oven. If desired, garnish with scoops of vanilla ice cream, melted Nutella, and additional M&Ms.
