There is nothing more classic than an chocolate chip cookie- except for maybe Nestle Toll’s recipe! These iconic cookies offers all of the comfort of a Nestle Toll House but with the added bonus of being homemade and oven fresh!

Firstly, this recipe is all but overflowing with chocolate chips. Which is the hallmark of a truly mouthwatering chocolate chip cookie, in my opinion! Plus, it uses two different types of sugar (granular and brown) in order to get that perfect, elusive combination of soft and chewy.

And the batter is wonderfully subtle, with warm undertones of butter, allowing the chocolate chips to truly shine without competition. Yet another reason that this is such a good chocolate chip cookie recipe!

How To Make Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookies From Scratch


Units Scale
  • 2 1/4 cups Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Butter
  • 3/4 cup Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 cups Chocolate Chips
  • 1 cup Nuts (Optional)


  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt together in a small bowl. Mix to combine; set aside.
  3. Cream together the butter, sugar, and brown sugar. Once the mixture is light and fluffy, add the vanilla. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing in between each addition.
  4. Add the dry ingredients, mixing until fully incorporated. Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts, if using. Portion out 1 tablespoon sized balls of cookie dough on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet.
  5. Bake for 9-11 minutes or until the edges of the cookie just turn brown. Remove from the oven and allow to cool on a wire rack until the cookies have set.
