This delicious fudge recipe is so remarkable that it has been my family’s go-to Christmas gift for years. And when it only take five minutes on the stove top, it would be almost criminal if you didn’t make it. Now, in the interest of full disclosure, it can be a little tricky to achieve the perfect consistency, but I pinkie promise that just making this fudge will make your Christmas merrier. And for a little extra holiday cheer, add some festive M&Ms or sprinkles to the hot fudge right before you pour it into the pan to harden. Either way, you can’t go wrong with this rich chocolaty delight.
Combine butter, evaporated milk, sugar, and salt in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring constantly. Pour a small glass of cold water and drop a small amount of the sugar mixture into the water. It's done when you can shape a sugary ball in the water.
Quickly remove from heat and stir in the marshmallows, chocolate chips, vanilla, and nuts. Pour into a greased 9 x 9 pan and cool until set. We added M&M's and extra mini marshmallows to our fudge for dramatic effect, but it's fabulous on its own as well.
