Christmas Tree Light Cookies

Move over Thanksgiving- it’s Christmas time again!! Time to uncover your Santa hats, hang your stockings, dust off your favorite cookie cutters, and- of course- the annual pièce de résistance of holiday prep: decorating your Christmas tree! Tinsel, ornaments, lights, carefully placing the star (or angel) on top; and when you step back, it’s impossible to ignore the empty space underneath that is just waiting for pristinely wrapped presents. Guys, if you couldn’t tell from all of the exclamation marks, I’m super excited for Christmas! In case you’re counting down (like I am), Christmas Eve is only one month away! And while we can’t help you decorate, we do have a TON of exciting new recipes to share with you this holiday season! So let’s kick off the tsunami of seasonal sweets with a tasty procrastination project: CHRISTMAS COOKIES!

For better or for worse, Christmas trees don’t come fully draped in all of their trappings- the process always starts with the lights. And every year, they come out tangled. So why don’t you warm up your decoration muscles by “stringing lights” on a batch of sugar cookies instead? And unlike traditional lights, the lights on these cookies never get tangled! This recipes starts with the sweet snap you expect from a sugar cookie. Topped with a generous layer of luxuriously rich frosting and unexpected bursts of chocolate whenever you bite into one of the many colorful “light bulbs,” this is a super simple holiday treat.

So in between shopping and mugs of hot cocoa, remember to keep your eye on our feed and get ready to be inspired!
