3D Christmas Tree Cupcakes

Simple, festive, and easy to make, these three dimensional Christmas trees instantly transform regular cupcakes into a festive forest! Using only colored chocolate, a single pretzel, and a handful of sprinkles, these sweet and salty conifers are incredibly easy to make. If you’re feeling particularly cheery (like we were), throw a star shaped sprinkle on top to complete the full “decorated Christmas tree” effect. While the chocolate is setting, frost your favorite cupcake recipe and roll the frosting in a garnish of shredded coconut “snow.” Once the chocolate is firm, gently stab the tree into the cupcake base. Congratulations: You’ve just successfully created one arbor-able dessert!

 1 box Cake mix
 1 can Frosting
 1 cup Shredded coconut
 4 oz Green chocolate, melted
 Sprinkles
 ½ cup Stick pretzels

1

Prepare the cake mix according to the instructions on the back of the box. Pour the batter into cupcake liners and bake as directed on the box. Once the cupcakes have completely cooled, frost and press shredded coconut onto the tacky frosting.

2

Microwave the green chocolate until melted, stirring frequently to keep from burning. Scrape the melted chocolate into a small plastic bag. Trim the edge off of the bag. Place a pretzel stick on a parchment lined baking sheet and drizzle chocolate on one end, slowing moving back and forth forming a triangle.

3

While the chocolate is still warm, pour sprinkles on the chocolate. Repeat with additional pretzels. Once you've created enough trees, place the baking sheet in the freezer until the chocolate is set.

4

Carefully peel away the parchment paper and gently stab the pretzel end of the tree into the center of a frosted cupcake. Repeat with remaining pretzels and cupcakes; then serve.
